Down Begin Recording First New Album in 17 Years

Metal

It seems like everyone is coming out of the woodwork with new music. That is literally not a complaint, just an observation. Among those heading back into the studio to deliver us some goodness is Down, who hasn’t given us a full-length record of new music since the best year to graduate high school (2007, come fight me bros). They did release Down IV – Part Two in 2014, but, it just wasn’t enough.

Photos of the New Orleans sludge icons have been circulating showing them finally getting down to business when it comes to following 2007’s Down III: Over the Under. Even though we know they’re in there tracking everything after months of writing, there still is no release date set. I guess they like keeping us shrouded in mystery and intrigue?

Along with their appearance at the Milwaukee Metal Fest in May, they’re hitting the road with Danzig, Cro-Mags, and Abbath for a few dates starting in March. Get more info and purchase tickets here.
