Daniel Caesar Releases New Song ‘Valentina’

R&B

Just a week before Daniel Caesar releases his third album, Never Enough, the Grammy winner has debuted a new song titled “Valentina.” Caesar’s younger brother Zachary Simmonds co-produced the track with Dylan Wiggins.

“I know it’s late / And I know you got a man / Please understand, baby, he won’t / Love you like I do,” Caesar suggests in a suave voice.

“Valentina” comes shortly after Caesar visited Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform “Let Me Go” for the first time. The latter track is the sophomore single from Caesar’s forthcoming album, Never Enough, out April 7 via Republic Records.

Never Enough, the follow-up to 2019’s CASE STUDY 01, also includes the lead single “Do You Like Me?” Caesar co-produced the latter track with Raphael Saadiq and Wiggins.

Never Enough is Caesar’s first album under a major label. His previous albums, Freudian and CASE STUDY 01, were released on Golden Child Recordings.

He explained in a 2022 Billboard interview why he signed to Republic Records and wanted to experience a major label push.

“I felt like I was becoming a label executive and an artist at the same time. I wanted to keep artistry and business separate with a major label as my partner,” Caesar shared.

He continued, “I did as much as I could do on my own and I experienced a lot as an independent artist. I wanted to feel the difference of having such a large machine behind me.”

Before going on a large-scale tour, Caesar is embarking on a brief run dubbed Almost Enough: The Intimate Sessions Tour. It begins on April 6 in Los Angeles, California, and runs until April 22, in Berlin, Germany. Tickets are available now.
