My first thought upon opening a press release announcing “White Buffalo,” the latest single from the Canadian rock duo Crown Lands, was “Holy SHIT, that band photo! Perfect fodder for my ongoing Twitter thread of outrageous metal band promo shots.” Behold:

My second thought was that I should quit being a judgmental asshole and give the song a listen just in case. So I clicked the link.

My third thought was “Wow, this is actually pretty good!”

My fourth thought was that “White Buffalo” is, in fact, quite excellent, and that I was total dick for initially judging the book by its cover (and in retrospect: the band photo is all sorts of amazing).
