Actor and singer Christian Keyes has released a romantic new single “Under That Veil,” produced by Herman Johnson.
On the self-penned track, Keyes expresses his affection to a potential love interest, assuring them that he is ready for a love that will last a lifetime.
“I wanna see you under that veil, baby I do,” Keyes passionately sings in the chorus.
Regarding “Under That Veil,” Keyes exclusively tells Rated R&B, “It’s a love song for everybody who still believes in real love and the possibility of marriage. I wrote this song and I wrote all the songs on the album. I am grateful that everyone is connecting with the music the way that I hoped they would. It’s getting a lot of love.”
“Under That Veil” is the follow-up to Keyes’ previous single “Get Involved,” released in March. Both songs will appear on his upcoming album, set to release on his birthday (July 24) via Umbrella Entertainment.
Keyes pairs his new song with an official video directed by Cortez West, which can be viewed below.
Music aside, Keyes has been making strides in his acting career. He is the creator of All The Queen’s Men on BET+, based on his first novel, Ladies Night. The show was optioned and purchased by Tyler Perry Studios in 2021.
In a 2021 interview with BET.com, Keyes reflected on his experience working with Tyler Perry as a producer of the series. “It was great! On purpose, it’s not Tyler Perry’s All The Queen’s Men … it’s All The Queen’s Men, and I appreciate that he did that because he didn’t want to take credit for something I’ve been working on for 11 years,” said Keyes.
He continued, “It’s All The Queen’s Men, and it was done by Tyler Perry Studios. He pretty much just let us shoot it, and he made whatever adjustments he made, but that meant a lot. He’s got so many great shows and movies under his umbrella, and it’s nice to get credit for what I’ve been working on.”
Keyes also recently had roles in shows such as Hulu’s Reasonable Doubt, Prime Video’s The Boys, BET’s In Contempt, Fox’s 9-1-1, ABC’s The Rookie, CW’s Supernatural and Bounce TV’s Saints and Sinners, to name a few.
