Bring Me The Horizon have announced the release date for their long-awaited album âPOST HUMAN: NeX GEnâ â confirming it is coming later tonight (May 23).
The Sheffield band shared the surprise news in a post on X/Twitter this afternoon, dropping a minute-long teaser for the project and confirming that it will be out at midnight (May 24).
âBMTH invites you to Ascend!+,â they wrote in the brief caption. ââPOST HUMAN: NeX GEnâ [out midnight 24.05]â.
While no official release date had been shared up until now, the long-delayed album was expected to drop some point this summer.
It marks the follow-up to 2020âs âPOST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORRORâ, and was scheduled to drop last September, following being announced during the bandâs headline debut at Download Festival, but was later delayed due to âunforeseen circumstancesâ.
It is their first album since the sudden departure of longtime bandmate Jordan Fish, who was a part of the line-up since 2012.

Todayâs announcement also comes just weeks after Oli Sykes and co. began teasing that the release was getting close to being released â dropping a surprise teaser for the project online in April.
âYou cling to your virtual identity as if it were your very soul. Pathetic. Iâm here to wipe away the detritus of your existence,â read a robot in the clip. âFarewell insignificant content⦠Itâs time for a new era. Initialising NeX GEn.â
The album has faced countless delays over past months, with the band citing âunforeseen circumstancesâ that left them feeling âunable to complete the record to the standard weâd be happy withâ.
Sykes further spoke about the record in a chat with NME last June, calling it âunhingedâ: âI wouldnât say itâs a hyper-pop album, but Iâve definitely been inspired by that world. I admire how obnoxious, trashy and in your face that music feels, which is what I was drawn to when I got into emo, hardcore and screamo.
âItâs not that weâve lost that in our music, but as you become a bigger band, things do get more polished. I want to go the opposite way. Letâs be unhinged, letâs stop trying to make all the edges smooth.â
The vocalist provided a further update to us this January when we saw them at the BRITs, with Sykes telling us: âItâs nearly finished, but itâs not finishedâ.
âEvery time we think weâve got it, we get another song,â he added. âItâs going to be right good though, itâs our best album ever⦠Worth the wait.â
So far, the band have previewed the latest single from the album âKool-Aidâ this January, with âDArkSideâ, âLosTâ, âAmEN!â, âDiE4uâ and âsTraNgeRsâ also speculated to appear on the upcoming album.
