Time is one thing we never get back. Brent Faiyaz is willing to spend it all with the person he loves on his latest single “Wasting Time” featuring rap heavyweight.
“If you’re gonna waste your time / Then waste your time with me / You can have all the space / More than you need / It’s no pressure, girl,” Faiyaz sings on the melodic bop, produced by The Neptunes.
Drake appears in the fourth verse and gives an alternative take of what it means to waste time in a relationship. “Only time I play the back and forth is Aaliyah record / If I let you talk first, then nobody is speakin’ second / Fluent in passive aggression, that’s why you actin’ dismissive / Hearin’ me out for once would require you actually listen,” he raps.
“Wasting Time,” which sounds like a mid-tempo summer bop, follows Faiyaz’s previously shared songs “Show U Off,” “Gravity” featuring Tyler, the Creator and his three-track project (Do Not Listen).
