Brandy and Her Daughter Sy’Rai Share New Song ‘Nothing Without You’

R&B

Brandy and her daughter have joined forces for a new song titled “Nothing Without You.” It’s taken from the soundtrack of Disney+’s new film Cheaper By the Dozen, out today.

Written by Jon Levine and Taura Stinson, “Nothing Without You” is a heartwarming tune about sticking with family through the thick and thin.

“If I had everything under the sun / It would mean nothing without you,” sings Sy’Rai.

Both Brandy and Sy’Rai deliver a dynamic vocal performance. The Vocal Bible even brings out B-Rocka for an eight-bar rap verse.

“Nothing Without You” plays during the movie’s end credits.

In an Instagram post, Sy’Rai described “Nothing Without You” as “beautiful.”

“Nothing Without You” marks Brandy and Sy’Rai’s second collaboration. They initially teamed up for “High Heels” from Brandy’s b7 album, released in 2020.

Sy’Rai has been gearing up to make her official introduction as an artist. In 2020, she released “At Your Best,” which interpolated Aaliyah’s 1994 cover “(At Your Best) You Are Love.”

In November 2021, Sy’Rai appeared as a guest on The Realwhere she talked about her upcoming project that was vocal produced by Brandy.

This week, the 19-year-old singer played a snippet of an original song on social media, meaning that new music is on the horizon.

Cheaper By the Dozen starring Gabrielle Union and Zach Braff is Disney’s take on the 2003 family comedy. It’s streaming exclusively on Disney+.
