Blink-182 Popped Up at a Long Beach Denny’s

Metal

While they likely haven’t played a show on the floor with no stage show and pit crew in quite some time, Blink-182 attempted to have an ironic, down to earth connection with fans at a Denny’s in Long Beach.

The show happened on October 26. Of course, it was undisclosed, but it was very vaguely hinted at by the band making sure to say “What the fuck is up?” at their October 21 and 22 festival and in social media posts.

For those unfamiliar with the lore, the first ever Denny’s Grand Slam, aka show in the middle of a Denny’s, happened in 2013, and that spurred a love of these shows and the memes they inspired, especially in hardcore circles. The band Live Without first made the “What the fuck is up, Denny’s?” line famous at their Houston Denny’s show.

Some coverage of this show is claiming the are ripping of Live Without, but truly, regardless of if you think Blink-182 are must-listen classics or a bit overhyped, there’s no denying that it would be fun for any band to play at a Denny’s, and awesome to stumble upon a show like this.

The band recently dropped their new record, One More Time, featuring plenty of nostalgia and the band’s original lineup.
