Benjamin Tod “Satisfied With Your Love” – Country Music News Blog

Country

With his upcoming album Shooting Star, Benjamin Tod set out to prove to himself—and to the industry—that he could write an elite Country record with ease.

Benjamin Tod To Release Honky-Tonk-Centric Album "Shooting Star"

The project spilled out seamlessly in just two weeks from his pen to paper, song, and record. A calculated concoction venturing away from his years of Lost Dog Street Band stylings, Shooting Star is a love letter to musical decades past, touching on sonic textures from the mid-50s to the early 90s. “The original idea for this album was for each song to be placed in a different production period in country music history,” says Tod. “Obviously, there’s no way to cover everything so my preference shines through.”

And naturally, what would a distilled-pure Country album be without a stone-cold swinger of a love song? Today, Tod released his latest single from Shooting Star, “Satisfied With Your Love.” An ode to Ashley Mae, Tod’s wife of 13 years, primary muse for the better part of two decades, and longtime bandmate in Lost Dog Street Band, “Satisfied With Your Love” is a simple romp complete with clean steel guitar, piano, and electric guitar accouterments accenting Tod’s pure vocal delivery. “‘Satisfied With Your Love’ is a tune that doesn’t need a whole lot of explanation,” says Tod. “This tune is just an expression finding simple joy and peace within my marriage.”

“I rode the darker side of life
I used to drink and smoke and fight
I’ve been domesticated
I don’t even hate it
Satisfied with your love”
