R&B legend Alicia Keys has regained a position of power on R&B radio. Her track “Come For Me” featuring Khalid and Lucky Daye is now No. 1 on the format, displacing Ledisi’s “I Need to Know” after a week in the lead.
“Come For Me” gives Keys her second chart-topper at R&B radio this year, marking her as the only artist to have two tracks from the same album reach the top spot this year.
In January, “Trillions” featuring Brent Faiyaz was the first to reach No. 1. Both tracks appear on her August 2022 release, KEYS II, the sequel to 2021’s KEYS.
It’s worth noting that Keys’ Khalid and Date-assisted track first appeared on KEYS before being sent to the expanded edition.
“Come For Me” is the second collaboration between Keys and Khalid to reach No. 1 on R&B radio, following “So Done” in March 2021. The song is featured on Keys’ 2020 album ALICIA.
Keys has assisted Daye in achieving his first No. 1 hit on R&B radio with the song “Come For Me,” much like her previous collaboration with Faiyaz, “Trillions.”
“Come For Me” is No. 3 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart at this publishing. It first entered the top ten at No. 8 the week that ended April 29.
This latest chart triumph arrives after Keys wrapped the Latin American leg of her Alicia + Keys World Tour in support of KEYS II, as well as ALICIA and KEYS.
On June 28, Keys will kick off her Keys to the Summer Tour with a performance at FLA Live Arena in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. This tour marks the first time Keys will perform in a 360-degree “in the round production setup,” providing fans with a unique and exciting live performance experience throughout the North American trek.
Khalid, who is currently touring alongside Ed Sheeran, released the song “Softest Touch” in March. He joined melodic rapper Toosii for the official “Favorite Song (Remix)” as he puts the finishing touches on his long-awaited third album.
Daye is collaborating heavily this year. He has already worked on songs with Chiiild (“Good for Now“) and Victoria Monét (“Smoke“). He also received a co-songwriting credit on Maeta’s “Through the Night” featuring The Free Nationals.
