French progressive metal band March of Scylla are dropping their debut album, Andromeda, on March 7 via Klonosphere and Season of Mist. Hear it below before it becomes available.

The band was initially founded Christofer Fraisier, guitarist formerly of Taman Shud. Their dark, proggy sound came together when he added Gilles Masson formerly of Ashura on drums, Robert Desbiendras on bass, and Florian Vasseur on vocals. Priot to this record, they dropped two EPs, Arvchives and Dark Myth.

“After two years of relentless dedication, we can hardly wait to unveil our new songs,” the band say. “This album represents our most accomplished work to date, both in composition and production, pushing our creative vision further than ever before. For me, it encapsulates the entire essence and universe of March of Scylla—a journey we’re eager to share with you.”

Andromeda was recorded, mixed, and mastered at the renowned Studio Sainte-Marthe in Paris by Francis Caste. It focuses on themes of science, the cosmos, and the afterlife as well as existential anxiety, social injustice, and deep emotional struggles.
