Gunna Announces New Album Splurge: Heres What He Said About the Release Date

R&B

Gunna’s next era is on the horizon. The Atlanta native revealed in an interview with Forbes’ The Enterprise Zone on Thursday (Sept. 17) that his next album is titled Splurge.

“I want to tap into my new next level that I’ve been tapping in with,” he explained. “I want to introduce that, which is Splurge. This upper-echelon artist who’s gravitated to another level.”

Gunna wouldn’t put a release date on the project, but it could be soon. “I can’t say when because I’m in it right now,” he said. “If I feel ready, it could come out next month. But if I’m not ready, I’m not ready yet. I don’t have a date.”

When Gunna released his The Last Wun album in 2025, there was speculation that it would be his final project on Young Thug’s YSL Records label. The “Sold Out Dates” rapper revealed he’s not a free agent, but didn’t confirm if that meant he’s still with YSL or signed to another company.

“I wouldn’t say apparently free. We in the works,” Gunna said. “There’s been a lot of talks of what’s being produced and who’s going to be behind me supporting it.”

While he hasn’t released a single in 2026, Gunna has been part of collaborations with Shaboozey (“High Noon”) and Rich The Kid (“Too Bad”) this summer.

The 33-year-old has been consistent with releasing projects every year since 2022. Gunna’s The Last Wun debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 80,000 total album-equivalent units earned in 2025, which marked his seventh top 10 project.
