Ever since Dee Snider announced his retirement and Twisted Sister revealed they were going to move on with their 50th anniversary plans by recruiting Sebastian Bach, fans have been wondering when the show dates would be announced. Well, some of those dates have seen the light of day thanks to an announcement from earlier today.
Set for September and October of this year, the following tour dates will feature Bach trying to fill some Dee Snider-sized shoes. And he’s doing it while keeping his solo career afloat. The dates in question are:
- 9/4 Palmer, AK Borealis Theatre
- 9/12 Durant, OK Choctaw Grand Theater
- 10/8 Niagara Falls, ON OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino
- 10/10 Windsor, ON The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor
Bach became the Twisted Sister frontman after Dee Snider stepped down due to health reasons. In his announcement, Snider said “the idea of slowing down is unacceptable to me. I’d rather walk away than be a shadow of my former self.” At that time, the Twisted Sister reunion shows were canceled altogether.
Then one month later, the band announced that they were going to reduce the number of shows they’d initially planned and that Bach was taking Snider’s place. In the wake of that decision, Snider came out and gave his support for the move.
“I totally approve of Sebastian Bach stepping in for me. He’s a true fan & will honor what I did with every show! My son Jesse and Bas are the only people I believe can deliver. Bas got the call.”
In a recent interview, Bach addressed his upcoming stint with Twisted Sister. In that conversation, he barely contained his excitement.
“I am a fan of Twisted Sister. And I’ll tell you right now, I’m probably a bigger fan of Twisted Sister than anybody watching this. I love that band. I used to go see them whenever I could.
“And I really love the album ‘You Can’t Stop Rock ‘N’ Roll’ with songs like ‘The Kids Are Back’, ‘Ride To Live, Live To Ride’. I love the ‘Under The Blade’ album. I love ‘Shoot ‘Em Down’, ‘Destroyer’, ‘Tear It Loose’. I mean, I love ‘I Wanna Rock’, I love ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’, but there’s an earlier period of that band where they were one of the most ferocious rock bands that you will ever see. And if you saw them back then, you know what I’m talking about.”
