When it comes to love, kwn will go the distance — and her single “Hopeless Romantic” is proof of that.
Produced by Joel Compass (Snoh Aalegra, Jorja Smith), “Hopeless Romantic” finds kwn professing her desire for an enduring relationship. “I don’t wanna ever lose the honeymoon phase / I’m a hopeless romantic,” she sings over a soundscape of ’80s synths and gritty guitar. The sonic shift hints that kwn may be gearing up to expand her musical palette into new territories.
“The meaning behind ‘Hopeless Romantic’ is about me believing in a romantic, long-lasting love. Not just lust, but intimacy, a solid friendship and commitment,” kwn exclusively tells Rated R&B. “It’s an idealistic type of love that I think people of my generation have lost sight in. I want my fans to take away the honesty I’ve put into this and know that behind all that they know of me already is a human that thinks about this side of life also.”

“Hopeless Romantic” marks the dawn of a new era for kwn, following her 2025 EP, With All Due Respect. The latter project is home to the Kehlani-assisted “Worst Behaviour” and “Back of the Club.”
Regarding With All Due Respect, kwn explained, “This project is me setting a foundation for myself in R&B. I’ve done a few great features this past year and now I want people to start taking me in for who I am as an artist. I feel a lot of people had previously been sleeping on me & doubting me. With all due respect, they should have never done that. Bow!”
With a sold-out tour supporting the EP, it’s safe to say many people woke up to the rising British star’s talents. Kwn will head back on the road this spring for a North American run — also sold-out — beginning March 6 in Vancouver. She will perform in Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, Philadelphia and more before concluding April 9 in New York.
