Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) love triangle with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) may have been the heart of The Vampire Diaries, but they weren’t the only ones who found romance. In fact, pretty much all of the characters had a relationship at some point, though to varying degrees of success.
But as many couples as there were, the CW show also missed plenty of opportunities. There were some characters that had tons of romantic potential and chemistry, and yet they never officially got together.
