Halle Gets Personal on New Song ‘Braveface’: Listen

Grammy-nominated singer Halle has released her new track “Braveface,” which she co-wrote with RAYE.

Produced by Bongo ByTheWay, Ervin Garcia and Johan Lenox, “Braveface” is a diaristic ballad where Halle narrates how she holds her head high amid challenging times.

While it’s not always easy — and she confesses to feeling so “tired” at times — she powers through it to show up when and where she’s needed. It’s that little glimmer of light that’s essential when one’s mind can be overwhelmed with darkness.

“I been so tired / Even though I feel this way / I gotta do what the girls do best / Cover up the pain,” she laments in the pre-chorus.

Regarding “Braveface,” Halle told Clash, “It’s reflective of the mindset I’ve been in, especially since having my baby. My mental has been everywhere.”

“Braveface” is Halle’s second solo single of 2025, following “Back and Forth,” released on Valentine’s Day. In April, she joined Leon Thomas on “Rather Be Alone” from his album MUTT Deluxe: HEEL.

In 2024, Halle dropped two singles, “In Your Hands” and “Because I Love You,” also co-written by RAYE.

Both tracks debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart, tallying her third consecutive top 5 hit following “Angel,” which reached No. 2 in 2023.

Beyond music, the 25-year-old singer and actress is set to star in the romantic comedy movie, Italianna, opposite Regé-Jean Page. The Kat Coiro-directed film, produced by Will Packer and Johanna Byer, is slated to premiere April 10, 2026, according to Deadline.
