Shadows Fall Played Their New Song “In The Grey” Live for the First Time This Past Weekend

Metal

Earlier this month, Shadows Fall released their first new song in a dozen years with “In The Grey” and it got a lot of attention from fans everywhere. To think that happened in the year of our lord 2024 is just wild to a lot of people — myself included.

Over the weekend, the band got to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their fourth studio album The War Within in a very special one-off show at the Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts. And while most of that show was a trip down memory lane, the guys made sure to throw in the new shit for the first time ever in a live setting, so of course we have video of that performance.

Prior to starting the song, frontman Brian Fair addressed the crowd and talked about the fact that new music even exists and how cool it is that Shadows Fall have returned.

“This is the first new song we’ve puto ut in 12 fucking years. Thank you to everyone who supported and got us to number one on Sirius XM’s Devil’s Dozen — we appreciate it. And trust me, there will be more new music coming your way. I just don’t know when, but it’s coming. And it’s pretty darn good!”

So there ya have it from the man himself: looks like we should expect more Shadows Fall (not really a surprise) but we should also remain patient because there’s a huge question mark as to when any new tunes will come out.

In the meantime, you can check out the new track and imagine what the rest of the new stuff sounds like.
