Get ready for some truly dark and menacing metal. Decibel is stoked to present the new music video from Yoth Iria. “In the Tongue of Birds” comes to us from the band’s new album, Blazing Inferno, out on November 8 via Edged Circle Productions.
The song itself resembles the modern sound of Greek black metal, carrying on the spirit of the early-90s classics but boosting it with a full production sound and a more theatrical aesthetic. As for the video, it’s an impressively cool presentation, especially for having such a simple setup. The aerial shots are all very evocative and compelling, and the footage of the band playing is super rad as well. The whole package benefits a lot from the fiery backdrop, giving the video a sense of cohesion that pulls you and makes you want to keep watching. Come to think of it, it reminds me of the 2015 rendition of Macbeth by Justin Kurzel, which may explain why I like it so much.
