Chlöe is back. The Grammy-nominated singer has released her new single “FYS” via Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records.
On the sultry jam, Chlöe tells a love interest she isn’t concerned about his material possessions; instead, she’s enamored by who he is as a person.
“F**k your, your status, it don’t matter / Money, cars and the diamonds / Don’t faze me, I been had it / F**k your status / I just, just wanna love you, baby / What you wanna do?” she sings in the chorus.
Chlöe co-produced “FYS” with Bongo ByTheWay, Go Grizzly and Cashmere Brown. According to press materials, “FYS” is “a taste of her new musical era” since releasing her solo debut album, In Pieces, last year.
In Pieces featured the singles “Pray It Away” and “How Does It Feel” with Chris Brown. The album included additional features from Missy Elliott and Future.
“IN PIECES is for the ones who behind closed doors are breaking and don’t know how much more they can take,” Chlöe explained in an Instagram post. “IN PIECES is for the ones who hold the people up around them while barely holding up themselves. IN PIECES is for the people who continue to get stabbed in the back, heart broken by the ones they thought they could trust, but STILL that doesn’t change their heart and how they love.
Released March 31, 2023, In Pieces debuted at No. 17 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart. Following the album’s release, Chlöe embarked on The In Pieces Tour.
In January, Chlöe was honored with the Generation Next Award at the 2024 Urban One Honors, which aired last month on TV One.
On April 12, Chlöe will make her solo debut at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California. She will return April 19 for a second show. Other R&B acts on the bill with Chlöe include Tinashe and Tyla.
