On Dec. 8, 2023, Wilson released his triumphant single “Superman,” produced by The Stereotypes.

“This song is truly personal for me as it reflects on the love I have for my wife and the turning point that reshaped my entire life. After The Gap Band’s success, I struggled with homelessness and addiction. I entered rehab, meeting my future wife, a counselor at the facility,” Wilson explained.

He added, “She put the cape on my back and we’ve been rollin’ ever since (28 years). This song is also for all women, their strength, love and support is appreciated more than they know.”

Wilson has not confirmed if “Superman,” “No Stoppin’ Us” or 2020’s “Forever Valentine” will appear on a future project. The latter tune was produced and co-written by D’Mile, Bruno Mars, and The Stereotypes.

Wilson’s last full-length album, In It to Win Itwas released in 2017.

In other Walk of Fame news, Brandy and Toni Braxton are set to receive their respective stars this year.
