Track Premiere: Kill the King – “Hate Advocacy”

Metal

We’ll admit that Indian thrash mongers Kill the King had us firmly on board just with their Rainbow/Dio-referencing moniker. This ripping new five-piece—Aditya Swaminathan (guitars), Rishikesh Dharap (guitars), Rahul Singh (drums), Pritam Adhikary (vocals), Saurabh Lodha (bass)—took on their name, however, as a nod to their resistance to all forms of oppression. With maybe a hint of Dio worship in there, as well. Who can say? The track we’re premiering today, “Hate Advocacy,” shows off the outfit’s ample chops and writing skills. It’s an uptempo, multi-faceted chugger with plenty of snaky riffs, some lightning fast guitar harmonies and Adhikary’s confident, raw vocals.

The track is taken from Kill the King’s upcoming self-titled debut full-length which was produced by Kill The King and mixed and mastered by bassist Lodha at Gray Spark Audio. It’s set to be self-released by the band on November 3 on CD and digitally. Place your preorder here (for India), or here (rest of the world).

This is what the band had to say about the new track:

“‘Hate Advocacy’ speaks about the hate and violence that people from minority groups face due to the sole reason of being different from the masses in some form or another. Hate crimes against minority groups, transgender and homosexual people, people from different races, etc. are some of the ideas touched upon in this track.”
