Muni Long’s latest single, “Made for Me,” has debuted on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart for the week of Oct. 7, 2023.
The piano-driven track opens at No. 27 on the airplay chart, which tallies “the week’s most popular songs, ranked by radio airplay detections as compiled by Luminate,” according to Billboard.
“Made for Me” is Long’s second-best debut on this chart. She previously entered at No. 25 with John Legend’s “Honey,” lifted from his double album, LEGEND. It peaked at No. 4.
In February 2022, “Hrs & Hrs” debuted at No. 29 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart. The love anthem won a Grammy, went platinum, and peaked at No. 2 on this same chart.
According to Mediabase, “Made For Me” was named the most added song at R&B radio for the week dated Sept. 20, 2023.
“Made For Me” was released Sept. 15 via Supergiant Records/Def Jam Recordings as Long’s first proper single in a year. She co-wrote it with the song’s producers Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox and Jordan XL. The song has received over 522,000 streams on Spotify.
It is unclear whether “Made for Me” will be included in any future projects by Muni Long.
Her last project, Public Displays of Affection: The Album, was released in September 2022. The LP included “Hrs & Hrs,” which has since received multiple versions, including a Spanish edit and an Usher-assisted remix.
Other singles included “Another” and “Baby Boo” featuring Saweetie. Both tracks appeared on radio and Billboard. The former earned Long a top 10 hit at urban radio.
Public Displays of Affection: The Album was among Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2022 list.
