Coco Jones’ ‘ICU’ Hits No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales Chart

R&B

Coco Jones’ single “ICU” continues to prove it’s a hit that sticks. The Camper-produced track re-enters Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart this week at No. 1.

It’s Jones’ first time leading this chart, which according to Billboard, tracks “the week’s most popular downloaded songs” and is “ranked by sales data as compiled by Luminate.”

Elsewhere this week, “ICU” advances to No. 5 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart; No. 6 on the Hot R&B Songs chart; No. 7 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart; No. 14 on the R&B Streaming Songs chart (re-entry); and No. 62 on the Hot 100.

All the previously mentioned chart positions, with the exception of the R&B Streaming Songs chart, are peak positions for “ICU” at the time of publication. It peaked at No. 11 on the R&B Streaming Songs chart during the week of April 8, 2023.

Jones’ latest chart moves come after releasing her “ICU (Remix)” with Justin Timberlake on July 14. The original version of the song appears on Jones’ debut EP, What I Didn’t Tell You, released in fall 2022.

In January, she followed up with What I Didn’t Tell You (Deluxe), an expanded version of the project.

“ICU” is no stranger to the top spot. The RIAA gold-certified track spent four weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart. Additionally, it peaked at No. 1 at urban radio, a first for Jones.

Jones explained that “ICU” is about “the push and pull of being in a relationship where the circumstances have changed. Growing in our career and personal goals, but growing apart at the same time.”

Jones will be sure to perform “ICU” when she kicks off her headlining What I Didn’t Tell You Tour. It begins Aug. 5 in Ontario, California. Jones will make additional stops in Boston, Toronto, Detroit, Los Angeles, and Nashville, to name a few.
