Life can feel chaotic and overwhelming at times, especially when we start to contemplate all the things we wish to mend. Rising alt-R&B singer Casper Sage’s new track, “Flow State,” beautifully strives to soothe life’s abrasions with pure gratitude and contentment.
“I want to flow like the water and I’m running out of things to hold onto / Peace of mind, rolling with the tide / Hope we’ll be fine,” Sage sings in a misty falsetto, underscored with bass instrumentation.
Regarding “Flow State,” Sage explains, “It’s a song about getting exhausted of constantly wishing for more out of life. I just want to remain loving and accepting of life as it is, and grow along the way.”
“Flow State” is Sage’s first song since his Pseudo EP, which he independently released in April. The three-project included the songs “Spinnin‘,” “FML” and “Pseudo.”
The former track was released in January as the lead offering. “With ‘Spinnin’,’ I was trying to express the frustrations of trying to make the same changes within my life, but somehow ending up right where I started from. Ultimately, always ending up in my own way,” Sage previously told Rated R&B.
It’s not confirmed if the 21-year-old singer’s new song is a standalone track or if it will appear on a future project.
In May 2022, Sage released his self-titled project, which included cuts like “Summer’s Gone” and “Fallen.” He capped the year with “is this real life?” a standalone track that now has more than 430,000 streams on Spotify.
Before that, in 2019, Sage released his first project, Winter, which featured more hip-hop-flavored tracks.
