Genre-bending artist Fridayy has released his new single “When It Comes To You,” which he co-produced with KVRIM, Kofo and Aidan Brody.
The song arrives with a heartwarming music video, directed by Dragon Andic, which can be viewed below.
On the slinking track, Fridayy recounts a time when he was in a deep emotional abyss and shares how his significant other helped him out of it, which showed him what true love is.
Since she’s been supportive throughout everything, Fridayy is willing to go above and beyond to do what’s right for her.
“Don’t get caught up in them lies before you know the truth / I’d be down to risk it all if you ask me to / Ain’t playing with your heart ’cause that’s too much to lose,” Fridayy croons in the second verse.
Speaking on his new single, Fridayy tells Rated R&B, “‘When It Comes To You’ is very soulful and loving. I made this for anyone that has someone special in their life that they are willing to do anything for. It’s an uplifting love story, and the video brings that essence to life.”
“When It Comes To You” is the second preview from Fridayy’s untitled debut album, set for release in August on Def Jam Recordings. The lead single, “Don’t Give It Away,” featuring Chris Brown, dropped on June 2, with the official video arriving shortly after that.
On Spotify, “Don’t Give It Away” has amassed almost 7 million streams. Meanwhile, the official video, directed by Andic, has been viewed 3.3 million times and counting on YouTube.
Fridayy’s forthcoming debut album will follow his 2022 debut EP, Lost In Melody, which gained attraction from peers and industry tastemakers. This year, he expanded the project with five additional tracks, one of which featured Ty Dolla $ign.
Beyond his solo music, Fridayy has made cameos on tracks with other rising acts and has been part of major projects.
He joined Zae France for “What It Do” on Valentine’s Day and later was featured on the Fast X soundtrack. That track “Countin’ On You” paired him with Lil Tjay and Khi Infinite.
Last year, Fridayy appeared on DJ Khaled’s Grammy-nominated song “God Did.” The star-studded track also featured Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and John Legend. The six artists performed the song at the 65th Grammy Awards.
