Emerging R&B singer J. Brown has shared “123 Fourplay,” the first taste of his sophomore album, The Art of Making Love.
The intimate track was produced by Grammy winner Carvin Haggins (Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild) and Maylon “Fuss” Jones.
On “123 Fourplay,” Brown sets a romantic atmosphere for his partner before dimming the lights and getting down to business.
Discussing his new track, J. Brown says, “The intent with this song was to express the significance of connecting with a woman’s mind before engaging in the physical intimacy. Making love to a woman is more than the act of undressing and engaging in sexual activities.”
“123 Fourplay” is not the official lead single from The Art of Making Love. The buzz track is merely to butter fans up for his focus track, “My Whole Heart,” which is already taking off at R&B radio this week. It’s the second most added song on the format with 16 new adds.
The Art of Making Love arrives July 28 via MochaMusic/SRG-ILS Group. It follows J. Brown’s hit-making debut album, Chapter & Verse, released in May 2022. It was his first album under his new deal that he signed that winter.
Songs from Chapter & Verse included the lead single “Simpin’” as well as the Tank-featured “Don’t Rush.”
The latter track, which was given an official video, peaked at No. 7 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart in August 2022.
Later in 2022, J. Brown reissued Chapter & Verse with three new tracks.
