Léa The Leox Finds ‘Purpose’ on Debut EP: Stream

R&B

R&B newcomer LÉA THE LEOX makes her formal introduction with her debut EP, Purpose, via Sqwee Sounds/Genius Distro.

Speaking on the creation of Purpose, LÉA says, “What started as thoughts in my diary, blossomed into the Purpose EP.

She continues, “After reflecting and healing, I am so proud to present this body of work to the world. I hope that everyone who hears this is reminded that they are valuable and cherished.”

The six-track project opens with “When You’re Lonely,” an acoustic confrontation where LÉA calls out a potential partner who appears more interested in a physical connection rather than establishing an emotional bond. While LÉA has no complaints about their physical intimacy, she yearns for me and is ready to call it quits.

“You just wanna get inside / But you never wanna / Hear what’s on my mind / You only think about yourself / And that’s fine / Just don’t call me when / Don’t call me when / You wanna get inside,” she sings.

“Over Again,” the current focus track, is one of the defining moments of the project. Among all the songs, it highlights the production at its finest. The song opens with LÉA’s angelic vocals paired with a mellow guitar riff.

As the song progresses, LÉA’s honey-sweet vocals continue to mesmerize. The production, lyrics, and vocals complement and elevate one another, culminating in an eargasmic masterpiece. “Over Again” concludes with a delightful scat-styled harmony moment.

LÉA concludes Purpose with the title track, which she described as “very personal” to her. She wrote in an Instagram post, “It documents my journey towards self-acceptance and realizing that my purpose in life is not just about success or achievements, but about the love and support of those around me. I hope this song can resonate with anyone who’s ever felt lost or unsure about their purpose.”
