Rising R&B singer Maeta has unleashed her new single “Through The Night” featuring Free Nationals.
On the sensual tune, Maeta yearns for intimacy from a toxic love interest. She desires more than mere lovemaking; she wants a transcendent, out-of-body experience in the bedroom.
“So good, the only time that I ain’t looking at it / Is when my eyes roll back / And you bring me to my knees / Too good at pleasing me / And giving me just what I need,” she sings.
Maeta’s enchanting vocals, accentuated by evocative instrumentation, breathe life into the song’s fervent emotions.
“Through The Night” includes co-writing credit from Elijah Blake and Lucky Daye, who both offer background vocal support, along with Livvi Franc.
“Working with Lucky was so much fun,” says Maeta. “I’ve never worked with such an amazing vocal producer. We played games, talked shit and had a really fun time. But when it was time to work, he made sure I was on point.”
“Through The Night” is the follow-up to Maeta’s previous steamy track aptly titled “S(EX),” written by Kehlani and Ant Clemons.
Both tracks will appear on Maeta’s forthcoming EP, which will release this summer on Roc Nation Records. The untitled project will follow Maeta’s debut EP, Habits, released in 2021.
“My EP, Habits, is about everything that comes with being in a toxic relationship – love, anger, sex, growth, self-esteem,” Maeta previously stated. “I was finding my way through one during the making of this project, so it was like therapy for me during that time. I’m so excited for everyone to hear this project, and my hope is that people connect with the music and feel uplifted, healed, and understood.”
Maeta has been spotted in the studio with heavyweights such as The-Dream and Pharrell. It’s not confirmed if these works will appear on the EP.
