Close out the week in this post-apocalyptic hellscape with a fittingly on-point lyric video from U.S. death metal legends Pyrexia for the track “Unscathed.” The song is from the forthcoming reissue of their slamming classic 1997 album, System of the Animal, which will be fully remastered and available on June 6.

Pyrexia guitarist Chris Basile says, “This album takes the genre and stands it on its head. The new single ‘Unscathed’ is just the first punch in the mouth from an album with no rules and no limits.”

About the album rerelease overall, he adds: “After releasing Gravitas Maximus in 2021 on Unique Leader Records, I was finally able to hear Pyrexia songs with the production I had always imagined. I immediately wanted to re-record System of the Animal and bring it to Demigod Studio. The result is nothing other than pure audio violence.”

Pyrexia with Embryonic Autopsy and Yotuma tour dates:
April 14 – Brick by Brick – San Diego, CA
April 15 – Barrel Proof Lounge – Santa Rosa, CA
April 16 – The Virgil – Los Angeles, CA
April 18 – The Quarry – Bisbee, AZ
