Mayhernate doesn’t want to be left alone this holiday season. On her soothing, guitar-driven track, “Stay A While,” the rising singer leaves the door open for her and her interest to be cozied up by the fire. She hopes it is inviting enough for him not to hurry off and leave her side.
Speaking to Rated R&B exclusively about the new holiday tune, Mayhernate says, “This song just sums up how many of us feel when the weather is getting cooler and the holidays come around.
We can all use a little bit of company: whether it’s a friend, family, or a lover. ‘Stay A While’ sums up all the feels. Baked cookies, coquito, hot cocoa, or just cuddling up with bae.”
“Stay A While” follows Mayhernate’s Plush EP, released in January 2021. In August, she reissued the Gourty Maxx-produced project as an acoustic collection.
