6LACK Releases Video for ‘Temporary’

R&B

Grammy-nominated artist 6LACK has unveiled the official video for his song “Temporary” featuring Don Toliver.

In the Cameron Dean-directed video, 6LACK plays the role of a matador in a bullring. He uses his jacket as a muleta while distorted effects follow him in the beginning scenes.

Meanwhile, a woman dancer works up a sweat in a solo shot, and frames of roller skaters circle around 6LACK in a warehouse. To find out who ends up left in the middle of the warehouse, you’ll have to watch the rest of the video.

“Temporary” is lifted from 6LACK’s third album, Since I Have A Lover, released in March via LVRN/Interscope Records. It’s the third music video to support a song from the album, after the title track and “Preach.”

On Spotify, “Temporary” has garnered more than 18.2 million streams on the platform. It’s the second most played song from Since I Have A Lover behind “Rent Free,” which has over 20 million plays. The latter, co-written by Leon Thomas, came out in late 2021 as part of a two-pack song release.

Circling back to Since I Have A Lover, the 19-track set debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart, making it his third consecutive top five debut on this chart. The LP also entered at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Since I Have A Lover includes additional features from India Shawn, Ty Dolla $ign, QUIÑ and Wale.

“The album is a collection of songs about love, and learning through the pains that come with growth,” explained 6LACK. “It’s a reminder that regardless of the outcome, choosing to better yourself, and sharing that experience with the people around you, has a lasting effect.”
