Zyah Belle Keeps Her Line Open on ‘1-800 Heartbreak’: Listen

R&B

Zyah Belle isn’t ready to hang up on love in her new single “1-800 Heartbreak.”

On the retro-soul track, produced by Seph, Belle longs for an ex to reach out and mend their broken relationship.

“As I lay here dreaming in this bed of stars / I pray I wake up right next to your heart / What a rush you give it sends me up to Mars / I hope you call, I hope you call me, baby,” she sings.

“1-800 Heartbreak” arrives with a video directed by Jacob Rink and co-stars fellow R&B singer Larrenwong, who plays Belle’s love interest.

Belle shares, “‘1-800 Heartbreak’ is my ode to the over-the-top dramatics of ’80s music videos. Picture fog machines, northern lights, and me crying over a man who doesn’t deserve it. It’s giving voicemail confessions and old-school romance in all its head-ass glory.”

She continues, “This song is about leaning into the melodrama of heartbreak, letting yourself feel it all, and creating a soundtrack for the messy, vulnerable, and achingly honest moments.”

“1-800 Heartbreak” is the follow-up to Belle’s confrontational anthem “Lyin‘,” released in October 2024. The latter tune was produced by Mack Keane, ESTA., and Blake Straus.’Lyin’ is a diss track for every person who’s ever been lied to, cheated on, or played by their ex,” Belle explained.

Both tracks will appear on Belle’s forthcoming EP, which will release via Third & Hayden Recordings. It will follow her debut album, Yam Grier, released in 2022.
