Summer Smash brought all the heat this yearliterally—butnothing topped Young Thug’s return to the stage. After everything he’s been through, Thug made his presence felt in a major way. It wasn’t just a set, it was amoment. His first live performance since being released, and he reminded the entire crowd exactly who he is.
From the jump, Thug had the crowd locked in. He ran through hit after hit, with visuals, energy, and pyro that turned the stage into a full-blown experience. Then he took it even further—bringing outTravis Scott,T.I., andKen Carson, and dropping a new song with Ken that gave us a glimpse of what’s next.
What stood out most? His connection to the people. You could feel the love pouring both ways. He didn’t rush through it—hefeltthe moment, and so did everyone else[even brought a fan onstage and went down to the ground to meet fans]. Watching him own that stage again was powerful, and withUy Scution the way, the comeback is looking real promising.
Elsewhere at the fest,Futureheld it down with a performance that had all the hits and Vibes,andChance the Rappergave the hometown crowd a set full of energy, appreciation, and Chicago pride.
And a personal favorite for me?Soulja Boy.The energy, the nostalgia, the impact—he remindederrbodyjust how influential he really is. A true internet legend stepping into real-life love from the crowd. It was dope to see.
