Wolves in the Throne Room Unveil Tribute to McDonald’s, “Mountain Magick”

Metal

Wolves in the Throne Room have emerged from a lengthy slumber to deliver a new single and video, “Mountain Magick,” a six-minute black metal adventure about the kids play room at the local McDonald’s in their native Olympia, WA.

“Sometimes you just have to let go and embrace your inner child,” explains the band. “During the pandemic, the local McDonald’s was one of the only places still open so we conducted our band meetings there,” they continued, “and with everyone scared of Covid, the play room was completely empty. We found the ball pit especially conducive to frosty riffs because the restaurant’s management had been instructed to turn the heat off to save on operating costs. Creating our own videos has been a long standing dream and now it’s very exciting to bring these visions into the cinematic realm.”

You can watch the video below. Wolves in the Throne Room will release Primordial Arcana on August 20 via Relapse Records; pre-order here.
