Why Does Megan Thee Stallion Keep Facing Racism?

Pop

It’s 2025, which means music from Megan Thee Stallion has been blasting on the radio for nearly a decade. Yet, it still seems as though the “Savage” rapper is facing racism, even if they aren’t blatant attacks.

Back in the day, the slander was partly tied to her extremely suggestive music video for “WAP” with Cardi B. Now, most of the racism appears as subtle shots in the form of microaggressions. Fans of Meg can see right through the BS.

Megan’s Interaction on the Red Carpet with Hannah Berner

Some call what happened to Meg on the red carpet the second most embarrassing moment after the Kanye West and Bianca Censori fiasco. What started as a kind and sweet interview on the red carpet of the Oscars afterparty quickly turned awkward and uncomfortable.

Hannah Berner proudly attested that Meg’s music makes her want to fight. She said, “When people are talkin’ sh**, I say turn on Megan Thee Stallion!”

Megan responded, “You want to throw that fightin’ sh** out the window and get cute and be a bad b****.”

It’s weird because it’s clear Hannah was trying her best to hype Megan up, but it came across as a microaggression. It’s as if Hannah was saying, “Oh, you’re a Black, female rapper… your music makes me want to fight.”

Meg makes music for hot girls. She made that known with the title of her first hit single back in the day – “Hot Girl Summer.”

When speaking with Megan, Hannah was visibly crying with emotion, showing she is a massive fan. But… the way she should’ve complimented Megan should’ve been claiming that Meg’s music makes her feel like the baddest b**** in the world, not like she wants to throw hands with the next person who steps in her face.

If anything, Megan has shown she’s pretty lowkey compared to most other female rappers. Just look at Bhad Bhabie right now! Megan is perfectly content hanging out at home, chilling with her dogs, and cozying up with her NBA boyfriend, Torrey Craig.

Speaking of Torrey Craig, Let’s Discuss How His Ex Spoke About Megan

There will always be some sort of animosity when you break it off with someone, which is just expected. However, that doesn’t mean you have the right to act like a total jerk to your ex’s new partner.

Olivia Davis, who used to date Torrey Craig, went on a podcast and said she wanted to talk about her ex’s new girlfriend. In the cringiest moment of all, she referred to Meg as Magan and Magan Thee Stallion.

She also said that she was shocked Torrey was attracted to Megan, claiming he typically only went after pretty blonde girls, like her. This didn’t go over well, which led to tons of people online claiming Olivia was racist

Olivia tried to walk her comments back, calling them a “dumb blonde moment,” but that’s simply not good enough. You’re trying to tell us you’re a millennial who doesn’t know how to pronounce Megan Thee Stallion

There’s not a whole lot that’s more disrespectful than how Olivia talked about Megan. Thankfully, the internet doesn’t forget and has continued to call her out. Olivia likely thought people would be on her side since she fits into society’s standard of “pretty.”

This is the same thought process Blake Lively likely had regarding her battle with Justin Baldoni. Blake’s chaos has resulted in losing Taylor Swift as a friend in her life! Thankfully, social media users aren’t putting up with Olivia’s fake apology, which she only released when she was called out.

Megan has taken everything in stride, though. She’s an easy target because of how successful she is and how calm her lifestyle outside of music seems to be. Hopefully, people will stop taking unnecessary shots at the “Body” rapper. She doesn’t deserve it.
