Watch: Vince Neil Did an Ad for Dollar Loan Center, and It’s So Depressing

Metal

Earlier this year, Vince Neil took part in a $150 million deal selling Mötley Crüe’s entire catalog to BMG. Later this year, he’ll be fronting the Crüe on a massive stadium tour with Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett. And yet somehow, Vince is strapped enough for cash that he did an ad for Dollar Loan Center. And if that weren’t depressing enough, the commercial itself is beyond brutal.

As you’ll see in the video below, the commercial opens with Vince driving the Zamboni at the Dollar Loan Center in Henderson, NY, which might be a hint at his options at this point. He then applies for a quick loan on dontbebroke.com, and hey, a site with that name couldn’t possibly be some sort of predatory scam. The loan then goes through the company’s loan approval machine, which is run by pouting ladies in lab coats, and is swiftly approved. Vince then says that the loan machine, and we quote, “rocks.”

A few questions:

  • How much could they have possibly paid Vince to do this? It had to be a sizable amount, right?
  • But at this point, how much money could Vince need at this point? Did he need Dollar Loan Center money?
  • Finally, this commercial does not instill the confidence in me that Dollar Loan Center might think it does. I’m sure they want chubby old white guys like me to think, Fuck, if Vince Neil on a Zamboni can get that loan, so can I! But what I actually think is, How could I trust any company that would give Vince Neil on a Zamboni a loan so easily?
