Video Premiere: Grind Supergroup Defigurement Reads Rites With “Godtopsy”

Metal

Describing itself as “an experimental grindcore project” Defigurement features guitarist Kevin Fetus (Lack Of Interest, Fetus Eaters, ex-Murder Construct), bassist Damian “DMT” Talmadge (Mormon Mincers, Violent Opposition, ex-Bad Acid Trip), drummer Mike Heller (Malignancy, Raven, ex-Fear Factory) and vocalist Matti Güey (Rottenness, Formless Master). The four conflicting and diverging, but unified and converging, minds have joined forces in the creation of their upcoming debut, a frenzied concoction of fast ’n’ furious grind and multi-hued psychedelia. The first single from said album, “Wounded Landscape” was issued back in November and featured guest guitar from Takafumi Matsubara (Formless Master, Retortion Terror, ex-Gridlink).

Today we’re presenting second single, “Godtopsy” a track which also features another guest string slinger in the form of Cephalic Carnage’s Brian Hopp (who looks more than ready to hit the cross-country ski trails immediately after laying down space age death-psych leads) with the song also happening to be the band’s first foray into the world of video. About the track and video, the band says:  “The mad scientists in Defigurement are pleased to bring our newest concoction to the public — a furious offering of blast beats, acidic riffs and a special offering of brain-melting guitar shredding from the indomitable Brian Hopp. Hallucinations may ensue upon watching. ‘Godtopsy’ takes the listener on a psychedelic journey from the universe’s inception, through the useless mortal coil, and towards our inevitable demise. Full Defigurement debut LP coming soon via Nefarious Industries….stand by for further updates.”
