Video Premiere: Deitus – ‘Voyeur’

Metal

London-based black metal outfit Deitus are slated to release their new album, Irreversible, in July. Their first release in five years, Irreversible takes an epic approach to black metal, placing a strong emphasis on melody and doom metal. In fact, on new song “Voyeur,” the doom takes front and center for a dramatic tune that features the vocal talents of guest singer Toni Coe-Brooker.

The accompanying video is also striking; the scope of the music is matched by beautiful nature and underwater shots that star Coe-Brooker herself.

“‘Voyeur’ is our first ever collaborative track and it was treated as a project unto itself,” Deitus tell Decibel. “It’s an exploration of the direct terror of sleep paralysis through the eyes of suffering lead vocalist, Toni Coe-Brooker.

“The song itself is far removed from anything we’ve previously done artistically. We painstakingly crafted an emotive canvass for Toni to deliver her chilling performance. What results is an undeniably powerful soundscape and cinematic music video, another first for us.”

Irreversible is out on July 14 via Candlelight.
