Sweden’s Carnal Savagery specialize in death metal that brings razor-sharp hooks and rips them right through your soul. The band recently put out their fifth album, Into the Abysmal Void, an offering that will quell the appetites of those who enjoy bands like Grave, Desultory, and other storied names from their homeland (“Column of Maggots” is my personal favorite on the record). Decibel is therefore happy to premiere the video for the album’s title track.
Mikael, who handles the guitars, bass, and drums, puts it all in very simple terms: “It’s about being eaten alive and slowly ripped apart by the legions of the dead.” As I write this in the evening, I haven’t had dinner yet, so I’d say this theme resonates with me very strongly. So I’m going to fix that before life imitates art. And you should fix your own craving for blistering death metal madness with the video below.
The CD edition of Into the Abysmal Void came out last week via Moribund Records, and the vinyl versions will be ready on February 16.
