Vedo’s consistency won’t be denied. The singer-songwriter has released his fifth proper album, 1320. It follows last year’s project, For You.
The 14 tracks featured here demonstrate Vedo’s expertise in making music for love-making. He best illustrates this flex on high-profile collaborations with Lloyd (“Sex Room”) and Ari Lennox (“Juicy”). He also gets his seduction vibes on “Slide,” a page out of the book of Trey Songz.
His strength is the assured nature of his lyricism, where he plots to treat the heart and body of his desired lover better than her current or last man. Songs like “One Call Away” and “Me & U” are textbook examples.
1320 includes the previously shared tracks “Yesterday” and “For Me” featuring Jacquees. Vedo also recruited Eric Bellinger and Erica Banks as other guest stars.
The album’s title holds great significance for Vedo, with 13 representing 2013 when his mother lost her battle to stage four lung cancer during his season four stint on NBC’s The Voice.
He shared that 20 is a sign of a new day, working on getting back on his grind to make his dreams possible. He also said when his daughter was born in April 2020, he felt a renewed sense of purpose for his life.
