Usher’s ‘Good Good’ Reaches No. 1 at R&B Radio

Usher continues his chart domination. His single “Good Good” featuring Summer Walker and 21 Savage ascends from No. 3 to No. 1 at R&B radio. It’s his second chart-topper on this same airplay format this year.

He topped R&B radio in June with “GLU,” his first song release of 2023. The bedroom jam spent one week atop the format before getting unseated by Lizzo and SZA’s “Special” collaboration.

R&B radio has become the third format to lead “Good Good,” following urban and rhythmic radio in September and October. No artist has scored three No. 1s of the same song on these three formats this year.

According to Mediabase, “Good Good” is currently No. 20 on the Mainstream Top 40 chart.

“Good Good,” produced by Mel & Mus, is the official lead single from Usher’s forthcoming ninth studio album, Coming Home. It was released Aug. 4 via Usher’s mega imprint with L.A. Reid in collaboration with Larry Jackson’s gamma.

Upon release, “Good Good” immediately topped Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart and later reached No. 1 on other Billboard charts, including R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay.

Additionally, the number of streams on Spotify for “Good Good” has surpassed 19 million. Meanwhile, the official video and visualizer have 26 million YouTube views combined.

As noted above, Usher is set to release a new album soon. Coming Home, his first album since 2016’s Hard II Love, is scheduled to release Feb. 11, 2024, via mega/gamma.

Coming Home will coincide with his headlining performance at the Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Recently, Usher picked up nine nominations at the 2023 Soul Train Awards, set for Sunday, Nov. 23, at 8 p.m. ET on BET and BET Her. He ties in nods with SZA and Summer Walker.
