Tyla Shares Heartfelt Song ‘Tears’

R&B

Grammy-winning singer Tyla has released a new track, “Tears,” in partnership with Coke Studio.

On the guitar ballad, the South African star sings about offering emotional support to someone who is experiencing hardship.

“Give all your tears to me / If you and you try and nothing works / Baby you don’t have to hurt,” Tyla sings over a mellow guitar.

Speaking on “Tears,” Tyla says, “My music is all about creating connections, sharing culture and influences from all over the world, and I know fans will feel that in ‘Tears.’”

Per the company, “Coke Studio 2024 is all about celebrating fan connection, uplifting and rallying fans with unforgettable new music and experiences created by their favorite artists.”

“Tears” comes a month after Tyla released TYLA+, the deluxe edition of her self-titled debut album. The expanded set features three new tracks, including “Shake Ah,” “Back to You,” and “Push 2 Start.” The latter song has been taking off across streaming services, nearing 25 million streams on Spotify alone.

The sweaty video for “Push 2 Start,” which premiered Nov. 7, has already exceeded over eight million views on YouTube. Aerin Moreno directed the video.

The standard version of TYLA was released March 22 via Fax Records/Epic Records. The album includes her Grammy-winning breakout hit “Water,” which reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart.

TYLA also features collaborations with Tems, Gunna, Skillibeng, Becky G, Kelvin Momo, and Travis Scott, who appears on the “Water (Remix).”

Tyla is set to perform at the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California. She will perform at the Lady Gaga-headlined shows on April 11 and April 18. Missy Elliott, FKA twigs, Ravyn Lenae, and Tink are also among the lineup.

Before that, on Dec. 5, Tyla will perform “Tears” live for the first time in her hometown, Johannesburg, South Africa, in collaboration with Coke Studio and Spotify at an exclusive concert.

“I can’t wait to see everyone, including my fans, friends and family, in Johannesburg and share this unforgettable experience together,” Tyla adds.
