In celebration of the sixth anniversary (released August 28, 2015) of his second proper album, Beauty Behind the Madness, The Weeknd has released an alternate video for his revered song and Hot 100 topper “Can’t Feel My Face.”
Though classified as the backup version, this video was the actual cut but was tabled due to a “shift in creative direction,” according to a press release.
The latest video builds upon the song’s lyrics with eerie yet happy scenes starring his on-screen lover Camille Rowe. The two have a crazed night of both pleasure and strife.
In early August, The Weeknd began revving up his new era following the Ariana Grande-assisted “Save Your Tears (Remix)” release from the successful After Hours run.
The Weeknd shared “Take My Breath” as the lead single from his upcoming album tentatively titled The Dawn Is Coming. It will follow his accomplished 2020 album, After Hours.
He also recently appeared on the Kanye West-fronted track “Hurricane,” taken from his new album Donda. It also features Lil Baby.
On September 24, The Show, the new documentary chronicling The Weeknd’s Super Bowl LV halftime performance, will air on Showtime at 9 p.m. EST.
