The Black Dahlia Murder’s Trevor Strnad is Working on a Black Metal Project

Metal

The Black Dahlia Murder frontman Trevor Strnad is both a student of metal and a prolific vocalist, regularly sharing public displays of affection for underground bands from throughout the metalsphere and lending his voice to up-and-comers (most recently, VHS).

His newest foray outside of his day job finds him teaming up with Artificial Brain (and ex-Revocation) guitarist Dan Gargiulo on a black metal project. Speaking on The Jasta Show, Trevor was asked if he has any side projects in the works, to which he replied:

“I do have a couple of things brewing right now. I have a black metal band in the works with Dan from Artificial Brain. I’m sitting on like, five songs and trying to work out vocals for that. I’d really love to do a punk band again. Something that’s just easy, you know? Like, musically simplistic. A lot less labor-intensive than The Black Dahlia Murder.”

Gargiulo is a super talented fella, and I already spent the first paragraph of this piece appreciating Trevor. Needless to say, with that combo this project — if and when it comes to fruition — is going to be one to keep an eye on.
