The Amours Perform ‘Before I Met You’ for MajorStage

R&B

R&B duo The Amours (Jakiya Ayanna and Shaina Aisha) are the latest to join MajorStage for its in-studio performance series.

The sisters wore blue outfits and performed a five-minute set, starting with an amazing rendition of Brandy’s “I Wanna Be Down.” They beautifully transition into their current single, “Before I Met You,” produced by Camper.

“Before I Met You” was co-written by The Amours alongside Dave Hamlin and Harold Lilly, Jr.

It was released as the second offering from their upcoming EP, Around The Way Girl, slated to arrive later this year via Hardcover/November Yellow.

Earlier this year, The Amours released “Don’t Deserve” as the first offering from the EP. Camper produced it as well. Following its release, the duo shared an acoustic cut of the reaffirming track.

Around The Way Girl will follow The Amours’ 2019 debut EP, Mon Amour. The six-track EP, which includes fan favorites like “Runaway” and “I’m Good Luv, Enjoy”, as well as their debut single “All the Time”, was released by Morton Records.

Last month, The Amours gained exposure at Mary J. Blige’s Strength of a Woman Festival during Kenny Burns’ segment. Burns served as the host for the weekend shows.
