Tank Taps Fabolous for New Song ‘Before We Get Started’: Stream

Nearly two years after releasing his final album, Tank has returned with a new single, “Before We Get Started,” featuring Fabolous.

On the suave track, Tank woos a wary love interest, assuring her that he will handle her with care.

“And before we get started / I know your heart is guarded, I know, ooh / Dealin’ with that tender love / Body to body to body / Girl, anywhere, I want you there,” Tank sings.

Fabolous comes in mid-track, rapping, “I know it’s hard to trust, I know it’s hard to brush / Your shoulders off and get back to it when your heart is crushed / I promise I just wanna give that broken heart a rush.”

“Before We Get Started” is accompanied by a grown and sexy video directed by Taj and Dre.

As indicated above, “Before We Get Started” is Tank’s first song release since declaring 2022’s R&B Money as his final album.

All four singles from the album reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, including “Can’t Let It Show,” “Slow” featuring J. Valentine, “I Deserve” and “See Through Love.” The first two songs spent two weeks atop the chart, while the latter pair spent one week each at No. 1.

Tank’s musical return comes as no surprise. On his 48th birthday (Jan. 1), he shared a trailer that teased his upcoming era and showed off his chiseled physique.

“I’M BACK,” Tank wrote in an Instagram caption for the video, which was shot like a fitness brand commercial. The end of the clip featured a snippet of “Before We Get Started.”

While Tank is back, he has not announced an upcoming project tied to “Before We Get Started” at this time.

However, he did tease The R&B Money Tour, which will include supporting acts Carl Thomas and Keri Hilson. The tour dates are expected to be announced soon.

In other news, Tank recently joined fellow R&B singer Jon B. on his single “Waiting On You,” the title track of his upcoming album.
