Tank’s tour announcement comes just days after releasing his Fabolous-assisted “Before We Get Started,” his first single in nearly two years.

The track, produced by Bizness Boi and Derelle Rideout, marks a new era for Tank after he previously announced 2022’s R&B Money as his final album.

R&B Money shares the same name as his label and podcast, both of which he co-owns and co-hosts with J. Valentine.

Tank has not confirmed if “Before We Get Started” is a standalone single or a track tied to a future project.

As for Hilson, her debut album, In A Perfect World…, turns 15 later this month.

In her interview on The R&B Money Podcast last fall, Hilson confirmed that she has new music on the way.

“Now it’s back to music,” she said when asked what’s next for her. “That’s all there’s left to do. I’m not done. I’m not finished.” She added, “We’re starting to take meetings to figure out how we want to do this thing [and] where we want to do this thing.”

Thomas, whose second album, Lets Talk About It, turns 20 this month, hasn’t released a full-length project since 2011’s Conquer.

In a 2020 interview with Rated R&B, Thomas mentioned that he had a new project in the works. “I’m currently working on two projects right now. I’m working on a Carl Thomas project (a full-length album) and I’m also working on an EP that is a project that is all about the relationship between people and their dogs,” Thomas told Rated R&B.

Regarding his pet-inspired EP, Thomas noted, “Anybody that knows me knows that I’m a big dog person, so it’s a musical relationship that I think is a very big facet of American life. Me being a dog person, I wanted to share my perspective of the relationship between people and pets to music.”

In the same interview, Thomas reflected on the 20th anniversary of his debut album, Emotional. Later that summer, Thomas released re-recorded editions of his singles “I Wish” and “Summer Rain” from Emotional.

In 2021, he teamed with fellow Chicago natives Dave Hollister and Donell Jones to form a new supergroup, The Chi. The trio appeared on Jones’ “Karma (Remix)” with an additional feature from Jacquees. No other music has been released by The Chi since then.

Before Tank begins his R&B Money Tour, he and Hilson will perform at the Lovers & Friends Festival in Las Vegas. The festival’s star-studded lineup also includes Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Usher, Alicia Keys, Monica, Keyshia Cole, and many others.
