Tamar Braxton’s ‘All the Way Home’ Goes Platinum

R&B

Tamar Braxton has achieved two new awards from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Her 2013 single “All the Way Home” is now certified platinum for selling over one million equivalent units. The soul-stirring ballad, produced by The Underdogs, was released as the third single from Braxton’s second album, Love and War

The album’s second single, “The One,” is now certified gold with over 500,000 equivalent units sold.

Here is a breakdown of Tamar Braxton’s RIAA certifications:

  • “All the Way Home,” certified platinum (1 million equivalent units)
  • “Love and War,” certified platinum (1 million equivalent units)
  • “The One,” certified gold (500,000 equivalent units)

Braxton’s latest RIAA certifications come on the heels of the 10th anniversary of Love and War. The album was released Sept. 3, 2013, via Streamline Records/Epic Records. It debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 114,000 copies sold.

Love and War was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 56th Grammy Awards. The title track also scored nods for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance.

The song “Love and War” spent nine weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. “The One” peaked at No. 2 and “All the Way Home” peaked at No. 8 on the same chart.

Braxton is celebrating her album on the Love and War 10th Anniversary TourIt kicks off on Oct. 22 at House of Blues in Dallas, Texas.

She will perform in major cities in the U.S., including New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles. The tour will conclude Jan. 20, 2024, at Sound Board Theater in Detroit, Michigan.

Nivea, Teairra Mari, Tiffany Evans, Candiace and Drew Sidora will support Braxton at select stops.

Circling back to “All the Way Home,” the song’s co-writer Sevyn Streeter told Rated R&B the story behind the track.

“We did that record with The Underdogs. We did it for Joelle James, who wrote [Ella Mai’s] ‘Boo’d Up.’ Joelle and I were both signed to Chris [Brown] at the time, and that was her session with The Underdogs. They asked me to come write, and that was the record that we did,” Streeter told Rated R&B in an unpublished interview.

Streeter continued, “That was a special one. I don’t know how it ended up going from Joelle to Tamar, but it worked out. Tamar killed that sh*t. Anytime a record gets passed around like that, I don’t really care. The record is gonna always find its home. My main thing is as long as the person still does the art justice. Do right by the art. Tamar went above and beyond. She sang the hell out of that record.”

As Braxton gears up for tour, she’s also steadily promoting her latest single, “Changed.”

The SWV-inspired song first entered the Adult R&B Airplay chart in April and peaked at No. 2. It is No. 4 at the time of publication.

“Changed” is Braxton’s first official single since her 2017 album, Bluebird of Happiness
