Rising singer-songwriter TA Thomas has shared “W.I.A. (Where I’m At),” the title track from his forthcoming solo debut project. It was produced by Camper.
A surplus of swagger is dispensed throughout this moody groove, where TA admits his faults and desires to make things right with a likely bae.
Before committing to a relationship, he advises his potential partner not to rush into developing strong emotions. He wants them to build something long-lasting that is not tied to his past.
And to ensure success in their situation, TA thinks it’s best to take things slow and address any lingering romantic issues from the past.
“I’ve been holding back / Know I got my issues / Can’t get too attached / You know what I been through / Can you meet me where I’m at / Wish it was that simple / If we want this to last / Meet me where I’m at,” TA sings.
“W.I.A. (Where I’m At)” is the follow-up to TA’s debut solo single “June 15th,” released in May. Camper produced his first song as well.
Regarding the latter track, TA said, “‘June 15th’ tells the story of a love that has gone from passionate to passive, from lovers to roommates. It illustrates a cold war battle of passive disconnections and fleeting emotions.”
As noted above, TA’s new track is named after his upcoming debut EP. “We’re coming to a moment in time where guys are becoming a lot more vulnerable. This project embodies the male perspective of being in and out of love,” TA exclusively told Rated R&B.
