SZA Shares New Song ‘The Anonymous Ones’

R&B

SZA makes another appearance on a film soundtrack this year. This time, the singer-songwriter recorded the song “The Anonymous Ones” for the musical drama, Dear Evan Hansen, in theaters everywhere on September 24.

SZA sings about the unhappiness some burdened humans keep tucked away from those closest to them on the soft rock track. Their “quiet pain,” as SZA calls it, isn’t just exclusive to them. While she explains we all have this flawed side, she no longer wants this to be her story.

“The Anonymous Ones” follows SZA’s recent soundtrack contribution “Just For Me.” The SAINt JHN-featured song appears on the official Space Jam: A New Legacy soundtrack.

SZA last released three unreleased tracks on Soundcloud in August. The music dump included the fan-requested “Joni,” which arrived with a music video exclusive to Instagram.

It’s been four years since SZA’s Grammy-nominated debut album Ctrl. She is currently in the studio working on the follow-up, which could include the Ty Dolla $ign-assisted “Hit Different” and the top 10 Hot 100 entry “Good Days.”
